Common Ground: Roots of Christianity

Yes We Are Christian

Folks always ask us what is the  Orthodox Church, are you Christian and how is it different from my church

The Basic Foundations of the  Orthodox Christian Church are scripture, tradition, the definitions of the ecumenical councils, and the teachings of the Church fathers and mothers.

We hold to the Apostle's Creed, and Nicene Creeds. Simply put, Orthodoxy has been teaching creeds, sacraments, and scriptures affirmed by the apostolic Church as founded by Christ, and established by His apostles and their successors for centuries.. We are the ancient Church unchanged.

To answer more of your questions we offer a discussion and Bible study following  Vespers.. It will discuss Orthodox Christianity.

We are not going to tell you, we are right and you are wrong. It is not a debate, but your questions are always welcomed. And we might ask you about your faith and beliefs. We would also like to learn . We don’t want to convert you, we just want to learn from you.

Everyone has some place in the Church, for the Church is made up of you, the Christian.

Day of Prayer and Healing

Prayer and Healing

Join us for a morning and afternoon of prayer and healing.

Heavenly Father, physician of our souls and bodies, Who have sent Your only-begotten Son and our Lord Jesus Christ to heal every sickness and infirmity, visit and heal also Your servant from all physical and spiritual ailments through the grace of Your Christ.

Grant him (her) patience in this sickness, strength of body and spirit, and recovery of health. Lord, You have taught us through Your word to pray for each other that we may be healed. I pray, heal Your servant  and grant to him (her) the gift of complete health.

For You are the source of healing and to You I give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Support For Mothers

Blessed Mother Olga of Alaska: A Modern Day Healer With God’s Grace

So few women are well versed on the various services and support  available to them. The overwhelming concern is  What am I going to do  Now? Many wrestle with abortion. Some with self harm or suicide. It is  disturbing that most women who are in trouble do not turn to their  church for guidance; perhaps because there are so very few places to  turn to, or because of the stigma of a crisis pregnancy. We all need Him  in our lives, especially when trouble and heart ache come. Women in  crisis need emotional support, confidential access to professional  agencies, and access to potential adoptive parents. Orthodox families to  encourage them to carry their babies to term.

Mothers Need Help

And for new mothers, they need support also.

  • Emotional support
  •  Referrals for professional counseling
  • Housing
  • Clothing
  • Medical Assistance
  • Prenatal care
  • Spiritual support

Some Have Support

Many women are fortunate to have the love and support structure to lead  them to marriage, children, and a meaningful life.  Others, however, are  not as fortunate.  They find themselves in a crisis pregnancy.  They  have made the wrong choices and are in turmoil.  They're not thinking,  they're panicking.

What We Do

We are here to listen. You have come to this point in your life due to  experiences that are unique to you. Let us connect you with the person  who can help you solve the problems you are facing.

Depending on your  situation, we can help you find a safe and healthy place where you can  complete your pregnancy, and give you time to make important decisions  about your future and that of your child.  Maternity and layette items  are available for you and your baby up to 2 toddler.  We can help you  get assistance with health issues unrelated to your pregnancy.   You and  the life you carry are both precious in the sight of God. Let us help  you know His love more deeply.

We Are Committed To Helping You

We want to make the most of your future and your baby's.  Blessed Mother Olga wants you to know that we are committed to help you make good decisions for you and your baby.  We care about you and are here to listen and to help.

And we are still standing with you after your child’s birth.

We Will Listen
